About
Cris Puccia Van Grol is the founder and primary doula of Cove Doula Care. She came to birth work after the birth of her first son, when she found herself wondering if other new parents were struggling (like her) or thriving, and if they had people to talk to about the realities of birth and parenthood. Her own experience inspires her work, where she serves as a compassionate guide for pregnant people and their loved ones.
In 2018, Cris completed doula training with Carriage House Birth (NYC) and has since supported families through all kinds of birthing experiences. She is committed to lifelong learning about reproductive justice, care work, and modern birth topics. Cris is a Birthing from Within Mentor and is currently in-training to become a Certified BfW Childbirth Educator.
When she is not tending to her birth work practice, Cris is a wife, mom of two boys, and lifelong creative.
How Can We Support You?
Cove Doula Care offers continuous, personalized support before, during, and after birth.
During pregnancy, you will meet your doula multiple times to navigate your birth preferences and create a postpartum plan to have you feeling ready for your transition.
During labor, it turns into a little bit of this and a little bit of that; we will be on-call to provide hands-on guidance with comfort measures, provide encouragement for you and your birth partner, amplify your wishes, and meet whatever you may need in each moment.
After birth, we will meet to process your birth experience and help you settle into your early postpartum period.
We serve families in Canandaigua, NY, and the greater Rochester region. Private virtual and in-person childbirth education sessions are also available to explore your questions about birth, postpartum, and building your support team.
Payment plans and sliding scale rates are available. Please include if you would like to discuss options when you reach out.
